The Complier and IDE provide a report usage of flash usage, but RAM is a very valuable resource with most Arduino system and the system should also be reporting usage of RAM and percent used.

thanks

@trlafleur
you can find the feature on the IDE 1.5.3 released yesterday (but is still missing for the Arduino Due).

In general, new feature and bugfix are available after a while on the next Arduino release coming after the fix.
