hi @asottile, I love your youtube/twitch videos on typing. I have run into a small typing dilemma that I outlined in this repo, I was wondering if you might want to take a stab at it / have some time to give me some help (see the README and main.py for fully stdlib/self-contained example).

Could serve as a good short video, which demonstrates the new python 3.13 TypeVar syntax for default types.

known issue in mypy:

• Unable to specify a default value for a generic parameter python/mypy#3737
• dataclass with Generic parameter does not honor default value python/mypy#12962
• generic dataclass with default (and typevar default) python/mypy#18812

wow, thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it! I'll see if I can adapt any of the suggestions, otherwise I'll just monitor these for progress.
